3125193 - setServiceType no topology (/host/<host name>/<service name>/<port number>/database) databaseId found!

Symptom

  • Some HANA server is failed to be started.
  • Service is shown in red light in HANA studio.
  • Following error message can be found in trace.  
    e tns_ddl          TNSClient.cpp(00412) : setServiceType no topology (/host/<hostname>/<service name>/<port number>/database) databaseId found!
    e indexserver      TREXIndexServer.cpp(02392) : Unable to obtain Service Database Id!
    e indexserver      TREXIndexServer.cpp(02437) : Do NOT use daemon.ini sections [<service name>] or [<service name>.c] to configure the service in mdc; instead use ALTER DATABASE ... ADD '<service name>'.
    f Service          TrexService.cpp(00541) : FATAL: initialization of service failed with exception exception  1: no.1000013  (TREXIndexServer2/TREXIndexServer.cpp:2447) TID: XXXXX
          Error invalid mdc setup while starting service
