In Analysis ribbon, the buttons in Comments group are disabled.

SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office

Excel for Office 365 has two kind of comments: the new threaded comments, and the old ones, now called "Notes". More information can be found in Microsoft's page "The difference between threaded comments and notes".
The Analysis Office comments feature works only in conjunction with the old comments (now "Notes"). It is not possible to use threaded comments and use them as e.g. BW comments in AO.

In order to comment a data cell in Analysis Office:

1. Make sure the option "Comments Storage" is set accordingly in File > Analysis > Customize Analysis > Options > Platform (this option is controlled by setting PreferredDocumentStorage and the default is "Business Warehouse");
1. To save comments in Business Warehouse, refer to chapter "To save comments in SAP BW/4HANA";
2. To save comments in Business Intelligence Platform, refer to chapter "To save comments on the BI platform";
3. To save comments locally in the workbook, refer to chapter "To save comments locally in the workbook";
2. Make sure the data source is already refreshed;
3. Follow the instructions of chapter "To comment a data cell";

For normal Excel comments, go to the Review ribbon and use the options in Notes menu as shown below:
