3125859 - Seat Reservations number not consistent acrosss entities

Symptom

A class has, for example, a maximum of 10 enrollments available.

There are differences between what the LMS Admin sees and the User can see in relation to the number of seats available. Why the difference?

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Item has a Class created which has a maximum of 10 enrollments of which five are currently used.

  2.  Within the class, Admin can see four enrolled and six available. Yet at Item level it has five.

  3.  Noting that one of enrollments is a reserved seat

  4. However the user sees five seats available to register

What is the difference between the Item, Class and User views in relation to the number of seats available.

Resolution

Noting that the class has 10 seats allocated of which 4 are already registered. The user will see 5 available to select as the two pending enrollments have not been approved and the allocated seat has been taken into account.

The ‘Open Seats’ number which the admin will see is 6 as the allocated seat has not been allocated yet. No user has been assigned to the seat so therefore it’s still empty so the admin will see 6 ‘Open Seats’ and not 5.

The ‘Number Enrolled’ in the Item screen will say 5 as it takes into account the 4 users enrolled and there is an assumption that the allocated seat will be filled before the class starts.

Hope this explains the behaviour.
