3126534 - Key value automatically deleting its value - Onboarding 1.0

Symptom

Key used in Onboarding Process is empty after value was added for it.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

 SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 1.0

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Use an SAP Standard key to hold a value in Onboarding Process.
  2. At the end of Onboarding Process find the key is empty.
  3. Check the backend to find the key value is empty with Owner = "".

Cause

SAP Standard Keys cannot be used for custom processes, If they are used, when you try to save a value to them they will automatically delete this value and reset to their standard function.

Resolution

System preconfigured keys should not be used on panels.
You can see in Data Dictionary if they are system keys as on Inspection you will see in red "Not all properties of the fields are displayed"

If you are using a key that displays this in Data Dictionary then you will need to create a new key from scratch for your configurations.
