Application will always be opened by default in its original version even default bookmark is set.

• SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2021.24.0

1. Create an Analytics Application.
2. Insert two Charts.
3. Set Chart_1 visible as default Bookmark.
4. Run the Application.
5. When open the application, it could not be loaded with default bookmark.

The symptom is by design.

Behavior of bookmark is slightly different between Story and Application design.

For a story, the concept of bookmark id is transparent to users.

If default bookmark is set, story will be opened in default bookmark.

But for application, rely on bookmark id to load bookmark (You can find bookmarkId=XXXXXXXXXXX in the URL).

So that it’s possible for users to open a bookmark by add/modify the value of bookmarkId in URL directly.

Different from story, application will always be opened by default in its original version (even default bookmark is set).

And users can load a bookmark by:

• Browse the bookmark in SAC files 
• Script API with bookmark id as the input parameter
• Append bookmarkId directly in URL, since the bookmark id is a long UID which is quite difficult to understand, it is support a reserved word, DEFAULT, for default bookmark when set the value of bookmark id in URL. If bookmarkId=DEFAULT is set in the URL, the default bookmark will be loaded.
