3128917 - Value of lastlogindate in syslogins is newer than the date the password of the login was expired - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • The value of lastlogindate column in syslogins for an expired login is newer than the date the password of that login was expired.

This is seen in a scenario where a login password was updated, for example, on Aug 30 with a password expiration policy of 90 days.
After > 90 days have passed and with the password still expired, the lastlogindate in syslogins shows a value that is later than Nov 30, which is when the 90 days were up.

  • A login attempt returns message:

The password has expired, but you are still allowed to log in. You must change your password before you can continue. If a login trigger is set, it will not be executed.
