Symptom
When you create a new Opportunity Party Rule, the Party Role isn’t assigned automatically to an existing Opportunity.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Administrator Workcenter.
- Navigate to Sales and Campaign Settings.
- Go to Define Rules for Opportunity Parties.
- Add a new Row with a new Party Role.
- Go to any existing Opportunity.
- You can see that the role isn't automatically assigned.
Cause
When a Party Role is added in the Determination Rule, the new Rule is valid only for new Opportunities or Opportunity changes (which trigger new Party Determination).
The new Party Role cannot be automatically added to an existing Opportunity without doing a relevant change. Generally speaking, when Master Data or Business Configurations are changed, the existing opportunities will not be automatically adapted.
Resolution
This is the currently system behavior.
