3131676 - SAP Marketing - Interest Weighting Rules not executed during Interactions Import

Although there are interest weighting rules existing for a certain interaction type, the weighting factor is not considered during the interaction creation - the interaction interest item is created with quantifier 1.

• SAP Marketing Cloud Edition

1. Create an interest weighting rule with providing the weighting factor for a certain interaction type and optional a certain marketing area from the Define Interest Weighting app.
   
2. Import interactions with interest items assigned using API API_MKT_INTERACTION_SRV
3. Observe that the weighting factor from the interest weighting rule is not considered and the interest item does not show the weighting factor defined in the interest weighting rule but shows interest quantifier 1.
   

Interest weighting rules are only executed, if the interest weighting is not provided during the import. The interaction import does not execute the interest weighting rules once the weighting factor is explicitly provided from the interactions import. The API API_MKT_INTERACTION_SRV provides the property "InteractionIntrstWeightingFctr" for entity set InteractionInterests - if the interest weighting is provided in the payload, the interest weighting rules are not being executed.

Please consider that design during the integration set up - please consume the InteractionInterests property "InteractionIntrstWeightingFctr" only in cases where the interest weighting is explicitly defined from the integration scenario.

For existing interactions you can force the interest weighting rule execution using the application job 'Interactions: Apply Weighting Rules to Existing Interactions' - the job provides different selection criteria including a selection on interactions with interest weighting factor 1 only:

The job execution will update the existing interaction.
