You want to edit a Fixed Asset however the following error appears: Inventory ID is mandatory for legacy assets (XYZ). While migration remains open, Inventory ID will be required for legacy fixed assets. Close migration for Fixed Assets through BC activity "Enable or Disable Migration". (XYZ represents the Fixed Asset ID).

 SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Fixed Asset work center.
2. Select the view Fixed Assets.
3. Search and find Fixed Asset XYZ.
4. Select Edit.
5. Go to the Master Data Tab.

At the bottom of the screen you will see the error: Inventory ID is mandatory for legacy assets (XYZ). While migration remains open, Inventory ID will be required for legacy fixed assets. Close migration for Fixed Assets through BC activity "Enable or Disable Migration".

For migrated Fixed Assets, the error will appear while the Fixed Asset migration is enabled in the Business Configuration.

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Select the view Overview.
3. Search and find the activity Enable Data Migration per Object.

4. Search and find Migration Objects: Fixed Assets & Fixed Assets (extended).
5. You need to disable both of the tick boxes and select Save and Close.

After you have completed this change you will be able to edit the Fixed Asset.
