Executing a settlement results in error AA416 (Retirement of old assets data not possible (No existing old assets data)) or (Rtrmnt of prior-year acquisitions not possible as there are no PrYrAcqs)

• SAP S/4HANA Cloud

1. Enter Execute Settlement - For AuC app.
2. Enter the parameters for the settlement.
3. Simulate the settlement and the error is thrown.

The asset does not have the negative indicator in the depreciation areas. 

Check the asset class for the AUC has the negative indicator set, this will solve for newly created assets. For already created assets, you will need to set the indicator within the depreciation areas of the assets.
