3134294 - StackOverflowError when login in Backoffice or at a deployment - SAP Commerce

Symptom

There are at least two scenarios where the exception happens:

  1. While using Backoffice, something unexpected happens. Upon checking the logs, you find something similar to
    • {"origin":"catalina","timeMillis":,"thread":"","level":"SEVERE","loggerName":"org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.[Catalina].[localhost].[/backoffice].[zkLoader]","threadId":,"threadPriority":5,"message":"Servlet.service() for servlet [zkLoader] in context with path [/backoffice] threw exception [Servlet execution threw an exception] with root cause",
    • "contextMap":{"sourceClassName":"org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve","sourceMethodName":"invoke"},"thrown":{"localizedMessage":"","message":"","name":"java.lang.StackOverflowError"
  2. When trying to deploy and it is found in the service's logs:
    • "level":"ERROR", "loggerName":"org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoader", "message":"Context initialization failed", "name":"java.lang.StackOverflowError"
