3135532 - PTP Master Data Replication: Switching the Replication Target System

Symptom

When using point-to-point master data replication, it is necessary to set up the Replication Target System in Employee Central. This object identifies the Employee Central Payroll system in Employee Central. Note that multiple EC Payroll systems may be connected to one EC system, for example, because a customer keeps payroll data separate for employees of different countries. Often the convention is used to name the Replication Target System identically to the logical system of the payroll system. However, it is not technically required to follow this naming convention.

Now, it may happen that customers have to switch the EC Payroll system, which entails also using a new Replication Target System. This KBA describes what needs to be considered with regards to point-to-point master data replication when switching the EC Payroll system.

In parallel to the point-to-point master data replication, the point-to-point time data replication may also be used. For that reason, one also needs to consider corresponding adjustments for point-to-point time data replication. The KBA 3135533 considers the switch of the EC Payroll system with regards to point-to-point time data replication.
