3135623 - Error "Select a key from the allowed namespace" is encountered when defining new entries for customer groups in Sales

Symptom

The Select a key from the allowed namespace error is encountered when you enter a new value for the following configuration activities: Customer group 1, Customer group 2, Customer group 3, Customer group 4 and Customer group 5.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

1. Log in to SAP Central Business Configuration.
2. Go to the Configuration activities tab
3. Use the search function to open one of  the following activity: Customer group 1, Customer group 2, Customer group 3, Customer group 4 or Customer group 5.
4. Click button Go To Activity to access this configuration item.
5. Click New Entries to add a new value.
6. Click to Save, the following error message is displayed:
 
 

Resolution

Namespace restriction is applied on the key fields in the application.

You can create entries other than the following SAP Best practice content namespace restrictions:

  • S, Q, R, X, P, Y for character fields
  • 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0 for numeric fields
