3136631 - Control Level Warning Not Working When Reversing Journal Entries

Symptom

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

The Journal Entries can be reversed without warning message via app Manage Journal Entries when the control type of validation rule is set into Warning in app Manage Substitution/Validation Rules.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a substitution validation rule MJE_REVERSAL (just for example) via app Manage Substitution/Validation Rules.
  2. According to this rule, warning message should be raised when company code is 1010 and reverse reason is 01.
  3. Reverse one Journal Entry with Reverse Reason 01 & company code 1010 via app Manage Journal Entries
  4. However, the Journal Entry can be reversed successfully without any warning message

Cause

Raising warning-messages in context of reversals isn't supported.
