3136785 - PY-GB: Removal of GBSXP Phase 1 AWE Processing – Additional Information

Symptom

Version 1: General KBA release

Version 2: Following customer feedback SAP have decided to delay the delivery of Part 2 until Q4 2024. Please still perform the recommended checks detailed in this KBA

Note 3110374 - PY-GB: GBSXP Phase I: AWE processing obsolete (Part 1) provides information of the changes that will be delivered to remove references to the AWE calculation for "GBSXP Phase I".

This processing has been obsolete for over ten years and should no longer be used by any customers. To optimize payroll processing and avoid redundant code causing unforeseen issues in the future the related wagetypes, PCRs and Functions will be removed from UK Payroll.

The changes will be delivered in two stages and the above note delivers the initial changes described in Part 1. Part 2 is currently planned for delivery Q4/2024. Further information will be published when a more precise date is known.

As the processing has been obsolete for more than 10 years no customer should be using it but here are some simple checks you can run to confirm this is the case and avoid any unexpected issues.
