3137214 - In the sales quotation the field WBS Element cannot be used

Symptom

The following error message is displayed while processing a sales quotation:

E: You cannot assign this WBS element to this sales document type.

Environment

Sales and Distribution (SD)
SAP S/4HANA Cloud All versions

Cause

A number of permitted document types are enabled in conjunction with the WBS element. Trying to use any other document type will result in an error being displayed.

Resolution

It is standard system behavior to allow the application of a WBS element for the following document categories only:

C - Order
I - Order with charge
L - Debit Memo Request
K - Credit Memo Request
H - Returns
