3137218 - Check Tool Error: Custom fields in development objective templates are reportable. DevelopmentObjectiveTemplateReportableCustomFields

Symptom

When running the checks for the Development application in Admin Center > Check Tool, issue(s) for the check "DevelopmentObjectiveTemplateReportableCustomFields" are found.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Career Development Planning

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log into the system
  2. Navigate to Admin Center > Check Tool
  3. In the Application field, select Development
  4. Run the check for Custom fields in development objective templates are reportable.
  5. Results are returned for some career development planning templates

Cause

The development plan template has custom fields which are not configured as reportable.

Resolution

Standard fields are reportable by default and are listed within Implementing and Managing Career Development Planning - Goal Plan Template Fields - Standard Goal Fields. Any field that is not listed within the standard fields table is considered as custom by the Check Tool and will need to have the reportable attribute to display within reports.

Note: The Competency field is not listed within the standard fields table, but is considered a standard field. As a result, Competency does not need to have the reportable attribute added within the XML. More information is in 2985570 - Ad Hoc Reporting on Competencies from Development Plans.

As a customer, you do not have access to Provisioning. Please engage a Certified Partner or Technical Support to assist with this configuration.

Steps to Update the Career Development Plan

  1. To identify standard fields in the XML, please review Implementing and Managing Career Development Planning - Goal Plan Template Fields - Standard Goal Fields as these do not need the reportable attribute added
    • Note: If you have the Competency field in the XML, this also considered a standard field.
  2. Make note of any non-standard fields in the XML as they are considered custom and will need the reportable attribute added
  3. Log in to Provisioning
  4. Select the company ID
  5. Under Managing Plan Template, select Import/Update/Export Development Plan Templates
  6. Locate the development plan template and select the icon under the Export column
  7. Locate the custom fields and add the reportable attribute
  8. Load the updated XML file into Provisioning
