Symptom
- Image display horizontally.
- Picture orientation incorrect.
- Puicture shows vertically in an image processing application, but horizontally in Crystal Reports.

Reproducing the Issue
- In an image processing application, open a picture, and see it is showing vertically.
- In Crystal Reports, create a new report, or open an existing report.
- Under the menu "Insert", select "Picture"
- Select the image, and insert it on the report.
- The image shows horizontally, instead of vertically.
Cause
- The picture was taken horizontally using a camera, or a smart phone.
- The image editing software shows the picture vertically because it auto-rotate the image based on the orientation information stored in the file. Note: Not all image processing application have the auto-rotate features.
- In Crystal Reports, the picture will show as it is stored in the file, and this is why it showing horizontally.
Resolution
- In an image editing software, open the picture, and save it vertically.
- In an image processing editing software, open the picture.
- Save the picture vertically.
- In Crystal Reports, open the report.
- Under the menu "Insert", select "Picture"
- Select the updated picture, and insert it on the report.
- The picture now shows vertically.
