3139230 - Memory vs Disk size differences on a HANA Database

Symptom

  • A large or significant size difference is observed between the in-memory consumption of used heap memory vs the current size of the data files on disk for the HANA services on the persistence layer. (Data and Log Volumes)

           

              

  • This can also be true for one or more specific large tables on the system where the current size of the table in the main memory columnstore is larger or smaller than the size of the same table on disk.
