Symptom

The following error appears:

User name '<username>' may only contain upper case letters, numbers, or '_','.','-'

(where the username is email address which contains a '@' character) during:

  • Employee data replication
  • Logon in IBP 
  • Import an employee using app Manage Workforce
  • Data replication from Successfactor (EC Employee Central) to S/4HANA
