3139744 - Behavior when inactivating Tasks Checklists

Symptom

Task has been inactivated but it can still be added into an Item classified as Other, and also this Task has not been removed from Items which the it is already added.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Reproducing the Issue

  1. In Learning Administration -> Content -> Tasks
  2. Search for a specific Task
  3. Uncheck "Active" check box
  4. Apply changes

Cause

Currently this is working as designed for this feature.

Resolution

  • Inactivating Tasks can be used for internal purposes of Learning Admins. In case there is a business scenario that Learning Administrators don't want the users to take the course with an outdated Task, they can either inactivate the Item or manually remove the Task(s) from the Items. To check the items that are currently using the Task, please follow the steps below:
    1. In Learning Administration -> Content -> Tasks
    2. Search for a specific Task
    3. Click to edit it
    4. Go to the "Items" tab to view the Items for the Task
  • As it happens for other entities an Admin will be able to add an Inactive task into the Item. The default list is based on active tasks, but the admin can choose an inactive Task by modifying the search results, which means they have consciously chosen the inactive Tasks for some reason.
