3140296 - PEP Postings are outside the Bookable period

Symptom

  • Automatic period end processing posted value after time account booking period end, which is not correct and causing data consistency issue in Check Tool.
  • The following check i.e. Check Tool > Time Off > Time Account > Time Account Details posting date is within the bookable period of a Time Account(checkID- TimeAccountDetailInsideBookingPeriod)
  • How did this happen?

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to the Check Tool > Time Off > Time Account > Time Account Details posting date is within the bookable period of a Time Account(checkID- TimeAccountDetailInsideBookingPeriod)
  2. Notice that there are entries that come up where they are outside of Booking period but they have been created by PEP

Cause

  • This issue is caused by the customer's configuration if they use a save rule on the time account object to manipulate the bookable period during every time account save.
  • This leads to mismatches between the bookable period defined in the time account type and the actual values on the time account.
  • During a period end processing run, the period end processing booking is still within the bookable period, so the creation is allowed. and during the time account save the bookable period is shortened by the rule which leads to the booking being outside the period.
  • Manipulating the bookable period of a time account via rule is not supported.

Resolution

Please use a different solution for this scenario, e.g. an interim update to update the Time accounts.
