3141221 - NY Pay Notice - Salaried Non-Exempt Behavior - Onboarding 1.0

Symptom

  • Candidates with FLSA status as non-exempt are being presented with notice for Exempt employees.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 1.0

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to the instance
  2. Go to Onboarding >> Process
  3. Create a candidate in onboarding
  4. During PHV step in the JobDetail, select 'SALARY' as the Pay Type
  5. Then 'Non-Exempt' in the FLSA Status.
  6. Going through the next panels, the HR is presented with the panel for Exempt Employees.

Cause

Upon confirmation of the Product Management Team from the Government site, the system is working as designed.

Resolution

The Product Management Team have confirmed that the system is working as designed which also matches the information from the Government site, so no changes are planned as of now in the configuration.

  • “The Wage Theft Prevention Act (WTPA) took effect on April 9, 2011.
  • The law requires employers to give written notice of wage rates to each new hire.”
