3142277 - Expected behavior - "Surveys" report has additional respondents

Symptom

The "Surveys" report number of respondents are bigger than the item / class enrollments.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Learning admin side > Learning Activities > Classes >
  2. Search and select the class which has a survey associated >
  3. Note the number of the "Enrolled" field >
  4. Go to the Reports > Search and select the "Surveys" report >
  5. Use the class for the step 2 as a filter >
  6. The "Total Surveys" and "Total Respondents" numbers may be bigger than the "Enrolled" field on the Class.

Cause

If some users assigned to the class have completed the survey two or more times, the "Total Surveys" and "Total Respondents" numbers will be bigger than the "Enrolled" field on the class.

Since the survey can be anonymous, the system does not check if the user is completing it two or more times. When the same user complete the survey, the answers and the number of respondents in the "Surveys" report will only be added, but not will be overwritten.

Resolution

This is an expected behavior.

Alternatively, to have a different system behavior, it would be possible to have an enhancement request created for it, where the Learning Product Management team can further review and assess the requested functionality to be considered in a future release.
