3142728 - Resource Calendar Doesn't Consider Time Entries

Symptom

In the resource calendar, the system has correctly and evenly distributed work (planned hours) on a specified number of days. But after releasing a timesheet for the involved time frame (which shows a specified amount of hours already worked), the resource calendar still shows the same amount of work per day.

Expected: The amount of remaining work (= planned hours - hours worked) is different from the original amount of work (originally planned hours). The remaining work shall be evenly distributed on the remaining number of days. The amount of remaining work per remaining day is different from the original amount of work per day.

Actual Result: The system still shows the same amount of work per day. Also an attempt to redistribute the work gives the same result.

Resolution

The resource calendar is a planning tool. It is not a tool to keep track of the progress of projects. Therefore only planned times and time entries that have an effect on planned times like i.e. planned absences are taken into consideration.

The intended functionality is a new requirement and may be requested through the influence portal.
