Symptom
The error shows when users try to define Sender Email in Output Parameter Determination: "domain in sender email address &1 is not allowed".
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud
Reproducing the Issue
- Open app Output Parameter Determination
- Set up business rules for the email settings for application, such as billing document
- Define Sender Email such as test@sap.com and system returns the error.
domain in sender email address test@sap.com is not allowed
Cause
In configuration Define Email Sender Domain, Sender Domain is defined as *@sap.com including character '@'. So the check logic allows a sender email address like <part1>.<part2>@sap.com (with at least one dot and hence two parts on the left-hand side) but rejects <part1>@sap.com (with no dot and hence only one part on the left-hand side).
Resolution
- Remove the character '@' in the configuration of Sender Domains
- Or make sure at least one dot ('.') is used in the left part of the email address
