3143033 - Error 'Domain in sender email address is not allowed' obtained in Output Parameter Determination - S/4HANA Cloud

Symptom

The error shows when users try to define Sender Email in Output Parameter Determination: "domain in sender email address &1 is not allowed".

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open app Output Parameter Determination
  2. Set up business rules for the email settings for application, such as billing document
  3. Define Sender Email such as test@sap.com and system returns the error.

domain in sender email address test@sap.com is not allowed

Cause

In configuration Define Email Sender Domain, Sender Domain is defined as *@sap.com including character '@'. So the check logic allows a sender email address like <part1>.<part2>@sap.com (with at least one dot and hence two parts on the left-hand side) but rejects <part1>@sap.com (with no dot and hence only one part on the left-hand side).

Resolution

  •  Remove the character '@' in the configuration of Sender Domains
  •  Or make sure at least one dot ('.') is used in the left part of the email address

NOTE:- The domain '@sap.com' is used an example here, this domain should not be used in customer systems.
