3143133 - Error: "Start Date must not be later than End Date" During Replication of Employees from Success Factors to Business ByDesign

Symptom

The data replication from Success Factors to Business ByDesign fails with the following error:

"Start Date must not be later than End Date"

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Master Data Replication work center
  2. Select Employees view
  3. Show Error Log List
  4. Find error(s) type "Start Date must not be later than End Date"

Cause

A potential reason for this error is that the data in the replication request and in Business ByDesign is not consistent. Example: In SAP Business ByDesign, employees have clause splits that are not reflected in the replication request. (Clauses are visible in the Personnel file of an employee in the Employment tab, Work Agreement subtab.)

To ensure that data is not overwritten, the replication process shows validity errors.

Resolution

Ensure that Success Factors has the same data before requesting the data from Success Factors.
