3143405 - Repeated credential prompt for executing import jobs from BPC

Symptom

  • Users get repeated credential prompts for executing existing import jobs from BPC system. This behavior occurs with the users who have Full control of the model and have ADMIN role. 
  • The connection to BPC is created and shared with the users who execute the import jobs. 

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Share the connection to BPC with a user. 
  2. Create an import job to BPC model as the user from step1. This user has ADMIN role and full control of the model. 
  3. Execute the import job. 
  4. The prompt "Set Credentials for BPC" is generated. 
  5.  The job completes after providing the credential.

Cause

  • The BW user account credentials for connecting to BPC systems are not saved along with the connection. Instead, they are saved per user connection. 

Resolution

  • The users who execute import jobs from BPC save the user credential in the connection.
