3143509 - Pepper integration: Technical Error with reference to Java Runtime

Symptom

You are integrating SAP Customer Checkout with the Pepper plug-in. You are getting an exception during starting up CCO or when saving the plug-in configuration (Technical Error). In the CCO log file you find an error like:

Caused by: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: ch/treibauf/pepper/java/PepperException has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 57.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 55.0
