3145787 - Half day configured in work schedule is considered as a full day when creating an absence request

An employee works 8 hours from Monday to Thursday, but only works 4 hours on Friday. When applying for a time off request covering the full week, the requesting field shows as 5 days instead of 4.5 days.

1. Create a work schedule with one day as half day (half the daily working hours).
2. Assign it to an employee.
3. On apply for a time off request for more than a day including this half day, system considers the half day as a full day.
4. E.g. if Friday is the half day, on apply for a leave from Monday to Friday, requesting is calculated as 5 instead of 4.5 days.

• This is currently the standard behavior.
• System cannot recognize that a day is half day based on hours in the work schedule.
• If one day in the work schedule has 4 hours instead of 8 hours, system considers that 4 hours to be a whole day.
• So, when applying for a leave the system will calculate the number of days as 5 days and not 4.5 days.

• If requesting is in hours, then the number of hours deducted would be as per the hours configured in the work schedule. So half day hours will be correctly deducted.
• For requesting in days, to deduct 4.5 days instead of 5, flexible requesting will have to be used. When flexible requesting is used, the requesting field is editable and the employee can type in 4.5 days instead of 5 days. • If flexible requesting is not feasible, then the time off request will have to be split in a way that 0.5 days are applied for separately. e.g. 4 days and then 0.5 days on the half day.
