3146374 - Exchange rate type with 6 decimal places

Symptom

  • In the app Currency Exchange Rates it is not possible to maintain an exchange rate with 6 decimal places.
  • When maintaining a exchange rate with 6 decimal places the system issues the message "Enter a number with a maximum of 5 decimal places"

Environment

  • S/4HANA Cloud 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the app "Currency Exchange Rates"
  2. Maintain a new Rate with 6 decimal places
  3. The system issues the message "Enter a number with a maximum of 5 decimal places"

Cause

It is not possible to maintain an exchange rate with 6 decimal places.  5 decimal places are used throughout the SAP System and this change is not possible.

Resolution

There is a known workaround to maintain a larger ratio.

  1. Manage Your Solution App
  2. Configure Your Solution 
  3. Configuration Step "2. Define Translation Ratios for Currency Translation" (SSCUI 102568)
  4. Here you can maintain a 1:10 ratio for example;

    Real Rate: 1,234567

    Ratio Rate:
    1:1 1,23456
    1:10 12,34567
