3147053 - How to check business catalog on restriction type Company Code/Ledger/Record Type/Version

With SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2111, a restriction type containing the ledger was added to several business catalogs in Overhead Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Asset Accounting. Customers were asked to recheck the relevant business catalogs that are assigned to customer’s business roles.

In SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2111 the restriction type had the following Restriction Type Status in the affected business catalogs: Phase-In (Read) or Phase-In (Write). These restriction type settings have become effective as of SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2202.

There are several ways for you to check for which business roles it is required that you maintain the ledger restriction type.

In order to get an overview, we recommend to use the apps IAM Key Figures or IAM Information System.

In the app IAM Key Figures you can see which roles have unmaintained restrictions (see example below) and follow up accordingly for these specific roles:

You can also use the IAM Information system where you can see which roles the restriction type ledger is not maintained (empty):

Alternatively, you can check on individual business catalog basis and proceed as follows:

Open App “IAM Information System” and check for each business catalog which of your business roles are affected.

For the identified business roles check the restrictions using app “Maintain Business Roles”.

Example: For role TEST_ROLE_OVERHEAD_ACCOUNTANT some restrictions are maintained. You need to check if the current parameter values are correct for all apps the user executes.

If the parameter values are not suitable or if the fields are blank or “not maintained”, you need to maintain them (at least “unrestricted”) to ensure a consistent restriction behavior in the business role.

Press SAVE to complete the update of the business role.
