3149124 - Unable to Drag and Drop an Assignment in Resource Scheduler from an Employee to Another in the same Day or Time

Symptom

You notice that, when trying to drag and drop an assignment in Resource Scheduler, from an Employee to Another, the system does not allow you to place that assignment in the same day or time.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Resource Scheduler work center.
  2. Navigate to Resource Scheduler view.
  3. Assign a demand to an employee.
  4. Try to drag and drop the demand to another employee, on the same day or time.
  5. See it does not allow you to.

Cause

This is the system expected behavior.

This behavior happens when the Business Configuration question Do you want the system to place an assignment (snap) to the nearest 30 minutes slot when moving or resizing assignment on the Gantt chart? is scoped in the system.

Resolution

You may follow the steps below in order to unscope the question:

  1. Navigate to Business Configuration work center.
  2. Navigate to Implementation Projects view.
  3. Select the current implementation.
  4. Click Edit Project Scope.
  5. Navigate to Step 4 - Questions.
  6. Expand General Business Data.
  7. Click on Resource Scheduler.
  8. Uncheck the question Do you want the system to place an assignment (snap) to the nearest 30 minutes slot when moving or resizing assignment on the Gantt chart? 
  9. Save the changes.

Once the question is unchecked, the user will be able to place the assignment to the exact same day or time to any other employee.
