3149611 - Error while Importing Actual Return date for LOA

• An Error message : "There are already absences for <user> in period <dates>, so this posting is not possible" comes up while Importing an Actual Return date on an Existing LOA
• How to upload Actual Return Date on Existing LOA record?

1. Go to Import and Export data-> Import data -> Employee Time
2. Try to Import the File filled with Actual Return Date Filled
3. Notice the Error message in the Log from Monitor Jobs

The field "externalCode" is not filled in the import file because of which the system is considering the entries as a new absence requests.

For the system to be able to identify this as a CHANGE to an existing absence, its mandatory to include the externalCode of the existing absence in the import file so that the system ensures the same record gets updated.

1. Goto Import and export data -> Export data -> EmployeeTime
2. Download the file and identify the absence record for the employee that you would like to change.
3. Use the external code of that absence record and use it in the import file to update the Actual Return date.

This way the system ensures that the exact absence is modified and not treat this as a new absence insertion.
