3149678 - Error message is received by Manager while terminating candidate from EC - Onboarding 1.0

Symptom

When offboarding a candidate, Manager receives notification that shows Termination failed :Failed to create offboarding activity for user : xxxxxxx due to some reason. Error Messages :[ErrorCode - 500; ErrorMessage - ]

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 1.0

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Terminate candidate from EC
  2. Provide mandatory information and select defined termination reason
  3. Candidate is Terminated in EC end but activity is not created in Offboarding dashboard
  4. Manager received Notification that shows Termination failed :
    • Failed to create offboarding activity for user : xxxxxxx due to some reason. Error Messages :[ErrorCode - 500; ErrorMessage - ___________]

Cause

In Provisioning > Manage Scheduled Jobs, "CreateOffboardingActivity" job has the check box checked for: “Send email to terminated user’s manager if there is a failure in Offboarding activity creation”.

Resolution

Please refer the KBA- 2892792 - Offboarding - Error Notification triggering to Line Manager - Onboarding 1.0

In spite of unchecking the box 'Send email to terminated user’s manager if there is a failure in Offboarding activity creation' in "CreateOffboardingActivity" job, if the manager is still receiving the error, then please reach out to SAP Support for next steps. This will require a script execution.
