• CDS views from S/4 HANA Cloud are not visible when creating a model in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

• SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2021.20

1. Create a new model from SAP S/4 HANA.
2. 'New Query for SAP S/4HANA' window appears.
3. Choose available connection.
4. Try to search for any of the CDS views.
5. Observe only some of them can be found.

Currently S4 is using the Discovery Service to find all OData Services as well as the Entities under them. The Discovery Service Gateway will only return Services with Entities if the Entities have previously been cached. If a Service did not have the Entities cached, then it would return as if it did not have any Entities. SAC will filter out Services that don't have Entities and as a result, it may appear like certain Services are missing.

To have the Entities cached, the metadata ($metadata) for the individual Service must have been requested first.

Using your browser, navigate to the Service URL of the missing service, and append /$metadata to the end of the url. Authenticate with the Basic Authentication credentials you have defined in your communication arrangement with SAC and observe the page has returned a XML response.
Next, try to create a new model from SAP S/4 HANA in SAP Analytics Cloud and the CDS will show up when expanding the service folder in the selection dialog or when using the search box.

You should be able to find this URL inside S/4 HANA UI -> Communication Arrangement -> Inbound Services -> Service URL list.
