Symptom
When creating a sales document with reference to another sales document, changes to the ship-to party's address are transferred into the original document if the address of the original document was previously modified (i.e., if it no longer matches the address automatically derived from master data).
"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Create a sales document and change the address to a document-specific address.
- Save the document.
- In a document created with reference to the first, change the address again.
- Notice that both documents now share the same address changed in step 2.
Resolution
In order creation with reference, if address data was changed in the original document, the following method is chosen:
- In the Create Sales Orders (VA01) app, a sales order is created, and sold-to party is entered in the order entry screen.
- Click Menu -> Sales document -> Create order with reference.
- Change the address for the ship-to party at the header level. It can be observed that the ship-to party address in the original document remains unchanged.
Note: At the item level, the ship-to party still shows the address of the original document. As a workaround, you can go to the item partner and re-enter the partner ID, then change the address information.
