3150757 - How to enable and configure workflows for manual time events

This KBA explains how to enable workflows for manual time event creation and deletion in Clock In Clock Out.

For time events recorded on a physical terminal or through web/mobile app, workflows are not required or supported, since the system timestamps the event automatically at clock-in or clock-out.

1. Enable Workflow Process for manual time events.
   Please go to 'Configure Clock In Clock Out' to enable the Workflow Process in Settings section.
   
   This only enables that it is allowed to trigger workflows for time events. This setting alone does not mean workflow will be triggered when there is manual time event creation / deletion.
   
   
2. Create the workflow that is expected to be triggered for manual time event creation / deletion.
   Please go to 'Manage Organization, Pay and Job Structures' to create the workflow and save.

3. Define the business rule to trigger the workflow created in step 2.
   1. Please go to 'Configure Business Rules' to 'Create New Rule'.
      
   2. Please select 'Rules for MDF Based Objects' as the scenario, and set 'Base Object' as 'Manual Time Event' and 'Purpose' as 'Workflow' when creating the Business Rule.
      
      Creating Business Rules can be referred to for more details on Business Rule creation.
      
      
4. Assign the business rule created in step 3 to the Save Rule of 'Manual Time Event' MDF object.
   1. Please go to 'Configure Object Definitions' to 'Make Correction' on the MDF object of 'Manual Time Event'.
      
   2. Select the business rule created in step 3 in 'Save Rules' and save.
