3151121 - DML sqls hit timeslice error at rvm_fetch_attr() - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • A transaction with multiple INSERTs and UPDATEs hit a timeslice error with a stack trace:

    timeslice -1001, current process infected at 0x1790386 (rvm_fetch_attr+0x26)
    timeslice error: spid 18885 exhausted its 'time slice' of 100 milliseconds and additional 'cpu grace time' of 1000 ticks (100000 milliseconds). It has been marked for termination.

  • The stack trace includes the following functions:

    (null)
    prot_validate
    s_mustrecompile
    s_execute

  • These SQLs are cached in statement cache.
