Symptom

Syntax errors similar to the ones below are raised while creating dynamic tables using the standard class/method CL_ALV_TABLE_CREATE=>CREATE_DYNAMIC_TABLE:

1. When using data type INT8:
    Error text: Type "8" is unknown. 14 8
2. When using data type DEC(17):
    Error text: For type "P", a length from 1 to 16 can be specified 9 P
