3151651 - Data Points disappear on Chart with a transparent line, in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Data point in Line chart in SAP Analytics Cloud story tend to disappear after hovering over on a single data point or when navigating to view mode.

SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2022.1.1

1. Create new chart (use sample dataset - BestRunJuice) on master-bolt.
2. Change chart structure to Trend - Line.
3. Add 2 new measures (e.g. Discount and Gross Margin).
4. Add time dimension (e.g. Date).
5. Drill down Date so that multiple data points are visible on a chart (e.g. month level).
6. Go to styling panel, hide the line by explicitly selecting transparent for line under "Data Points".
7. Notice the data points also gets changed to transparent color.
8. Change the color for data points under the builder panel, color section can bring them back.
9. Interact with the chart, notice that the data points disappear again.

• It makes the line look a bit like a scatter in a sense.
• The problem is that this approach will not really work as the Data Points coloration feature was not intended to do this, which is why the markers appear and also hide.
• In reality, it should never show as the color assignment in the Builder should always be prioritized after the Data Points coloration.

Expected behavior: Hiding the links in a line chart without hiding the data-points.

Suggested Workaround:

• Thresholds can be applied to each measure that always colors the data points with the desired color. Since Thresholds override, the series of Data Points should always be colored as desired.
