Symptom
Customer wishes to know whether regular API users can be marked as technical users.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
Resolution
Regular users cannot be marked as technical users.
Technical users are generated in the backend by SAP SuccessFactors' Engineering team and this technical user can only be used for internal integrations between SAP SuccessFactors and other SAP applications. Customers have no control over this technical user and therefore will not find these users in the SAP SuccessFactors instance.
If a customer has the need of a user for only internal/technical purposes, a regular user has to be created within the instance - see Help Portal - Adding Users .
As a best practice, it is recommended to create a specific Permission Group for such users and assign the desired roles.
