3152192 - Extension Field Value Not Uploaded Via Excel Upload

Symptom

When uploading objects such as, but not limited to leads to C4C using the Upload via Microsoft Excel add-in, values set in Excel for your extension fields do not get transported to the system - the objects are created, but the KUT field value is empty.

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

In our example we are looking at leads:

  1. Go to the Sales work centre
  2. Go to the Leads OWL 
  3. Click More > Import from MS Excel
  4. Select the relevant template
  5. Download
  6. Open Excel > see the new extension field is available
  7. Enter data as needed
  8. Upload
  9. Result: the object is created but KUT field is not filled.

Cause

While the KUT field was added to the Excel template, there is some code snippet missing/ the upload is not complete.

You can recognize what is missing by downloading your published excel file, after you unzip it and open the xmlMaps.xml.

Resolution

Please re-check the documentation on how to add an extension field to the excel import.
