3152787 - Employee or Hiring Manager is unable to sign the Compliance Form - Onboarding

Symptom

  • When completing the Compliance Forms, when the Employee or Hiring Manager clicks on "Click to Sign", no action is triggered and the e-signature is not captured in the form, triggering the following error: "Signing document because of missing field: sign field does not assign."
  • The "Submit All" button remains greyed out and cannot be selected.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Proxy as the Employee or Hiring Manager
  2. Perform the Complete e-Signature on Compliance Forms
  3. When the Employee or Hiring Manager clicks on "Click to Sign", no action is triggered and the e-signature is not captured in the form, triggering the following error: "Signing document because of missing field: sign field does not assign."

Cause

The error is caused by a permission issue. The required permission Metadata Framework > Access to non-secured objects is not granted to the Employee or Hiring Manager, preventing the system from properly assigning and capturing the signature field.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to Admin Center > Manage Permission Roles
  2. Open the permission role associated with the Employee or Hiring Manager
  3. Grant the permissions: Metadata Framework > Access to non-secured objects
