Symptom

You are creating a purchase requisition and upon entering the material you get this error: Enter a valid material

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. App: Create Purchase Requisition
  2. Create Item
  3. Select the material in question and you get the error: "Enter a valid material"

Resolution

In the SSCUI 102320 -  Define Output Format of Material Numbers, change the Material No. Length: 18.
