Symptom

  • SAP Enterprise Product Development (EPD) – is a cloud-based application suite comprised of solutions offerings in the areas of - Collaboration
  • Enable collaborative product development across extended enterprise
  • Configuring EPD to send out email notification through a third party provider (i.e. GMAIL) account SMTP server and this is hosted by Google
    • When using PORT 465, it creates an error with a log number
    • When using PORT 587 then it throws a USERNAME and Password error
    • When simulating via a Visual Basic VB Script with similar parameters this works for the email
  • Error: Status = Errorneous  "MailTask1" failed An unsuspected error occurred. Contact support citing logid 92c4de34-e755-41d8-ae9d-6fc47f9ba5e8 and provide steps to reproduce.

  • Why is the notification link or hyperlink not working when clicked?
    • In the message, the user can see the URL address
    • If this URL address is copied including the parenthesis, this will work however clicking on the link fails
  • My Inbox in Cloud - clicking link fails with error:
