3153714 - Contracts Locked by SAP

When opening a Contract, you receive the message Locking object not possible; object locked by SAP_SYSTEM (SAP_SYSTEM).

When the validity of a Contract expires, there is a standard background job which sets the status of Contracts from Active to Obsolete.

This background jobs runs ever 30 minutes, however some companies might create PDI (SDK) codes or Workflow Rules, which are triggered during the Contract status change. If one of these fails/triggers an error message, the standard background job will fail to run, resulting in the Contract being locked by SAP.

Please verify and adapt your PDI/Workflow Rules. Both should not run when a Contract status is set to Obsolete, otherwise the standard Contract background job will be impacted, causing serious problems to the Contract scenario.
