3153726 - The data locking owner for a leaf member cannot unlock the member when the data locking owner for the node has locked the complete node

Symptom

  • Using dimension with a hierarchy with data locking. Set up data locking owner.
  • The data locking owner for a leaf member cannot unlock the member (the menu greyed out) when the data locking owner for the node has locked the complete node.
  • Should the data locking owner for a leaf member be able to unlock the member when the data locking owner for the node has locked the complete node?

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2022.2.6

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Set up User A for data locking owner of a node in a dimension. Lock the node as User A.
  2. Set up User B for the data locking owner of a leaf member of the node from step 1.
  3. Note User B cannot unlock the leaf member(unlock menu greyed out).

Cause

This is currently the expected behavior.

  • If a user owns a non-leaf member, it means that the user can set any state for the children of the member (as the user is a "manager" for them)
  • The user can freely set locks for the children of the member the user owns. The user can effectively set any lock for the owned member if this member is not a leaf.

Resolution

This is currently the expected behavior.

SAC Development plans to enhance the functionality in the future. The release plan date is not determined at this time.
