3153961 - "An error occurred while fetching the list of members." when Cascading Effect is turned on in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• When Cascading Effect is turned on, the search bar to find values/members is not working for Story Filter, which is additionally based on Linked Dimensions.
• The dimension, where the error comes, is an InfoObject in BW.
• Error in the Story: "An error occurred while fetching the list of members."
• Error from HAR:

1. Create a Story.
2. Create Linked Dimensions.
3. Create Story Filters based on dimensions that are linked and turn on Cascading Effect.
4. Try to search for filter members in the Story Filter => "An error occurred while fetching the list of members."

Note: filtering by selection e.g. check/uncheck the listed members in the filter is working.

• This is a BW server query processing limitation.
• Filter across model depends on the dimension's "KEY" attribute while search in a filter depends on the "DISPLAY_KEY" attribute.  However for BW value help queries only 1 dimension attribute can be used.  For filter search with filter across model applied, since the dimension is used for both model linking, and also for searching value in the filter, both the KEY and DISPLAY_KEY attributes are added to the value help query and this is not supported by BW.
• Specifically, this happens when these conditions are met:
• The dimension (from model A) is used to build a filter in which the value search operation is attempted.
• The same dimension is used in model linking with another BW model (model B).
• Another filter from the linked model is created with specific filter values applied.
• Filter cascading is turned on for all filters.
