3154257 - Default Shapes for the Choropleth layer do not cover all locations on maps in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

When using a choropleth layer in a Geo chart, the default shapes provided by the spatial data may not cover the map sufficiently around the edges.  This issue is most easily observed on any border that is not a straight line.

e.g.

When this happens, any data points which lie on the land not covered by the shape are not included in the aggregated data shown by measure values for that shape.

This issue is a limitation of the Geospatial data.

The way the shapes were chosen was based on a tradeoff between file size and resolution.  The larger the file size, the slower the performance, both in the backend spatial calculations and the rendering of the shapes on the map.

For live connections you can provide your own shape instead of using the default ones (See help docs here).  However for acquired data (import data sources) it is not possible to use a custom shape at this time.
